Untitled chapter

Since I was 13 years old, I have been having the same nightmare. It likes to come and go whenever it pleases. I can go months without this nightmare happening. But when it happens, it lasts for what seems like forever.

It pretty much starts with me just in the woods, camping with friends. At a blink of an eye, it seems like everyone is gone and I am all alone. Well, not exactly alone. There is someone, standing there in a mask, just staring at me from a distance. I can never tell if he is actually moving towards me or I am just thinking he is.

I come to realize he actually is slowly walking towards me. So, of course, I start to walk away. He gets faster and so do I. I get to the point where I am running. I constantly keep looking behind me to see if I see him. I keep thinking I have lost him and once I think I do, I run into him. His eyes stare deep into mine, I am speechless and almost out of breath. I start running again.

I keep running without looking behind me to see if he is there. The one time I look to see if he is, I hit a tree branch and it knocks me out. Everything is blurry to me as I wake up in front of this random house. I'm not even in the woods where I started anymore. He took me somewhere and I had no idea where I was.

The house was the easiest described haunted house. The outside looked like it was caught on fire years ago. For some reason, I went into the house to look around. Hopeful to find a phone or something to help me get out of where ever the hell I was. What caught me off guard was the inside of the house looked completely fine. I am so confused as to what is happening or how this is even possible. The door closes itself behind me. I turn to look at the door and becoming slightly freaked out. I turn back around and the house looks like a mess. The kitchen had dishes with food half eaten on them along with spilt drinks. It looked like someone was here many years ago but were taken from this house.

I decide to walk around some more. The living room had a chair that looked like it was thrown down to get someone out of their way, a broken mirror with blood stains as if someone's head met the mirror, and a constant flickering TV that is on the same static channel. Something happened in this house and I still decide to look around. I head upstairs to see two bedrooms. The master bedroom had this huge window and it looked like someone was dragged from their bed and thrown out of the window. The bathroom in the hallway had a tub filled with blood and part of something or someone. The second bedroom had a knocked over crib, fan was on the floor instead of in the ceiling, and a bed thrown into the closet. So, it looked like two kids lived in there. I turn to leave the bedroom and walk back downstairs, and he is standing behind me and knocks me out.

I wake up into this basement. I was all alone. I was chained up to the wall. He fed me crackers with some water. Why did he keep me alive? I have no clue but I wish I wasn't. I am so worried as to what could have happened or what will happen to me. I am too exhausted from whatever night I just went through, I passed out. I wake up to more crackers and water. I'm still wondering as to why he is keeping me alive. He is sitting in front of me while handing me the plate so I can eat something.

He goes to take the mask off. That is when I wake up. I never knew what he looked like or who he even was. Always starts the same and always ends the same. Will I ever know? I have no clue.
