(II) Chapter 48 (Happier)

Days flew by and it was May already. I'd made another two months without speaking to Anthonio because my parents still had my phone.

Anyways, I remained as positive and lively as possible. I was carrying Anthonio's child and I was proud of it.

My belly had started to poke out, making me heavy and I was beginning to find difficulties in sitting or standing and that made me even more happy. My parents asked me to be discreet though. And so I was careful in the way I dressed. I made sure to hide my little belly whenever I went to work. I wished there was a way to contact Anthonio.

One day, I sat in my office with Kloe. We chatted.

"You look even more beautiful. I'm just happy you're happy." she said with a smile and I smiled back.

"Thank you, hon. I'm happy for your support. You're a sister."

She smiled again.

"Don't you have a way to contact your dangerous lover?" she teased.

"No, I don't. I wish I could tell him." I said, caressing my tummy. Suddenly, an idea came across my mind and I looked up at KIoe with a bright smile.

"What?" she asked, amused.

"I have an idea. I hope it works." I said picking the office phone up, "Give me your number."

"What's your plan?"

"If Anthonio listened to my calls on my cellphone from time to time, maybe he listens to my office phone."

"Oh, but would he be able to call back?"

"I'm not sure and that's why I'll call your number right now and ask him, that is if he's listening, he should text me through your number."

"Please, Kloe." I begged like a kid and she laughed.

"Well, okay."

I smiled and dialed her number and put the phone against my ear, motioning for her to pick her call. She did but didn't put it against her ear.

"Hello, Anthonio. In case you're listening, I just want to let you know that my phone's been taken by my parents. It's a funny reason. Anyway please answer me through text through Kloe's number right now. It's her number I'm calling. I'll get a new phone tonight and let you know. I have something great to tell you. Don't call until I ask you to. I love you."

I ended and hung up.

"Good. Now let's cross our fingers." Kloe chuckled.

We continued to discuss and about five minutes later, Kloe received a text from an unknown source.

"He was fast." she mused, giving me the phone. I giggled and took it. It was clearly a text from Anthonio. It read:

-Okay baby girl. I 'm waiting on you. I love you too.-

I smiled like a lunatic and Kloe laughed out.

"You should see how stupid you look." she mocked.

"Hahahaha, I look just like you when you see Tyler." I retorted and that was enough to shut her up.

I did order a new phone and it arrived my office later that evening. I was still with Kloe when I picked the office phone and called again, giving my new number to a probably hearing Anthonio.

"So, that's my new number, baby boy. Don't call me this evening, I have guards all over. But you can call tomorrow at exactly two. Gosh, I miss you so much! Can't wait to tell you What I have to. I love you." I confessed under the watchful, yet amused eye of Kloe.

I rolled my eyes at her and she giggled. Then in a lower voice, I said:

"And while waiting for tomorrow honey, please send me a full pic of yourself. A sexy one. It's been long and I want to see what you look like presently. I love you."

I ended before hanging up. I looked up at Kloe who just stared.

"What?" I asked amused.

"Oh, nothing. It's crazy how much you two love each other. Proof that nothing really is impossible." she said with a smile.

"I know right. Close to unbelievable."

"I'm still happy for you, though."

"Thanks hun."

"Now," she said looking at the time, "Eight PM already. Get your stuff let's go eat. My treat."

"Ooh, where are you taking me?"

"Anywhere where there's good Italian food. All this Mafia stuff's got me wanting to eat Italian." she admitted and I laughed.

"Let's go then."

We both stood and I got my bag and keys.

"Hope he sends that pic fast enough. I wanna see what he looks like. That pic of him they show on TV every time is blur and I'm unable to clearly make out his appearance."

"Well if it's not too private, I'll show you."

"Mmmm!" she exclaimed looking at me wide eyed and I laughed out, "Not too private as in??"

"You're crazy!" I laughed, "Shut Up."

We laughed and ate at our table in a five star Italian restaurant. Kloe was telling some funny gossips I'd missed out on while away. I'd missed her crazy nature so much. We were clearly alike but Kloe had that additional crazy thing I didn't have. She was very fun to be with.

While we discussed, my phone beeped a text. My heart skipped a beat.

"Go ahead and check it out." Kloe said.

I got my new phone and checked the messages from the unknown source. Anthonio had written:

-Can't wait to hear your voice tomorrow. I miss you too baby. And here's your picture.-

A second after I'd read the first text, a picture appeared and I bit my lip, my chest beginning to heave. He'd sent a shirtless picture of himself, and underneath it was written:

'You can use it for the night...'

I giggled like a little girl. Kloe watched me the whole time, a smile on her lips.

"So, can I see?" she asked.

"Yup." I laughed, giving her the phone. She took it and I watched her expression change. Her eyes slightly widened and she rubbed her forehead, making me laugh out.

"Damn," she muttered, "He's fine as hell." she said with a hint of surprise in her voice. I laughed again.

"You see one of the reasons I fell so easily?" I mused

"Oh yes I see. Gosh I need me an European papi too!" she exclaimed and I laughed.

"Told you about his brother right?" I joked.

"No thanks, I don't do Mafia leaders. I'm way too scared. I do more of Tylers." she laughed and I joined her.

We ended or night peacefully and in the best way.
