Watson Enterprise

I dragged myself lazily to the kitchen. I opened the refrigerator and took a carton of milk and poured it into a glass. I sat on the chair in front of the dining table, staring at the milk. My mind drifted off to the past events.

It’s been three days since Patrick and Scarlet left the mansion. Since then everything had turned awkward. Logan keeps himself busy with his office work. He’s disturbed. Sometimes he comes late at night with his fist bleeding. When I try to talk to him, he just pushes me off. Most of the time, I’m alone in this huge house. Even I hardly see Natasha nowadays. She leaves early in the morning and comes late. God only knows what she’s doing?

I learned that Natasha’s dad is a big entrepreneur and Logan’s and Natasha’s relationship wasn’t for real. It was only just for maintaining the business relationship between them. Though Natasha wanted to have a relationship with Logan, it seems he doesn’t see her in that way. I got this information with the help of Taylor. Don’t get me wrong! It was just out of curiosity.

I sighed and drank the glass of milk in one gulp. Suddenly my phone vibrated in my pocket. I took it out and saw a message from Logan.

‘We need to talk. It’s important.’ My heart started to beat loudly because of nervousness and fear.

Where should I come?′ I replied.

‘To my office. My driver will come to pick you up in ten minutes. Be ready.’

’Okay′ I replied back. I closed my eyes to take a second to breathe before I got up from the seat. I put the glass on the sink and ran upstairs to get dressed. I changed into a grey blouse and burgundy skirt with matching boots, my brown hair falling around my shoulders. I applied some baby pink lip gloss and eyeliner. I couldn’t help but think what would be the reason Logan wants to talk with me? Everything about him now shows danger and to be honest I’m scared of him.

I hear the sound of the doorbell. Taking a deep breath, I looked at the time. It showed nine in the morning. A sigh escapes my lips and I look at myself in the mirror for the last time before going downstairs and opened the door. In front of me stood a man in a black suit in his early 30s.

“Miss Kingston?”

“I’m Clark. Mr. Watson asked me to picked you up” he said and I nodded. A black car was parked outside. I locked the door and walked towards the car. Clark opened the door for me. I smiled politely at him and sat in the backseat. He shut the door and I followed him with my eyes as he walked around the car and got in the driver’s seat.

The ride was quiet, me looking outside the passing buildings, listing out all the possible things Logan wants to talk with me. My heart started to beat faster as he stopped the car in front of Logan’s office. ‘Watson Enterprise’. Clark got out from the car and opened the door for me. I took a deep breath and got out of the car. I looked up at the building and God it’s so tall.

I clutched my dress tightly and walked inside, to the reception. I don’t know, but for some unknown reason, I’m really nervous.

“Hi,” I said.

“Hi. How may I help you?” a young lady smiles at me from her desk.

“I want to meet Log- Mr. Watson”

“Do you have an appointment?” she asked, while she scrolled something on her computer.

“I don’t know about that. He told he want to meet me” I said.

“Your name please?”

“Karolia Kingston,” I said.

“Okay. His office is on the twentieth floor.” She gave me a quick smile and I nodded before walking towards the elevator. My foot tapped impatiently as I waited for the doors of the elevator to open. They finally did and I stepped inside. I hit the floor number and looked straight. When I was on the tenth floor, the elevator door dinged and they whirred open.

My breath hitched in my throat as Logan and another girl, maybe his PA stepped into the elevator. Logan looked at me for a brief second, before turning around and staring ahead. His PA looked at me and stood beside Logan, clutching a clipboard in her hand.

“Logan, what’s the –”

“Mia, cancel all my meetings for today. I’ve some other important works to do. And also make sure you get the complete details of that case.” Logan cut me off and I closed my eyes, clenching my fist to the sides.

“Yes sir,” she said. We reached the floor and the doors seemed to take forever to open. Finally, it did and we all stepped out, me being the last one.

“Miss Kingston, follow me,” Logan said to me in a cold and bossy voice and walked to his office, without even glancing at me. I felt uncomfortable by the stares I got from the staffs as I walked to his office. Logan opened the door for me and I stepped inside.

“You can leave Mia. We need some time alone” Logan said to her before he closed the door, locking it with a soft click. I looked around the room, staring at it in awe. Framed awards and certificates hung orderly on the walls to the right of the room. In middle were a black granite desk with a computer monitor sitting at an angle, two chairs sitting in front of the desk and another couple of chairs against one of the walls. Behind the desk was a large window that lit up the entire room. To the left of the room was a mini bar.

“Sit” Logan ordered and walked to his black leather office chair. He shrugged out his black coat suit and hung it on the back of the chair. He’s wearing a crisp white shirt, a black skinny tie finished off with some tightly fitted suit trousers. He rolled up his sleeves before making his way to the bar.

I sat down on a chair, fiddling with my fingers nervously. Logan poured himself a drink before turning around to stare at me. The intensity in them caused me to suck in a breath.

“So, Miss Kingston. What’s your next plan?”
