What makes this Christmas Eve "truly a night of celebration" for Marcus and his family?

He suddenly became inspired by beautiful distant Christmas music from a neighbor’s house to take his wife’s hand and start dancing with her. Both of their daughters cheered and clapped. This was truly a night of celebration.
