Blurb

Ethan is the Alpha of the Black Moon Pack. His brother, Emory, has been missing for months. Emily, Emory's twin sister, is devastated. She can still feel her brother, but she knows he is fading fast. The council is searching for him, but with no leads, there is very little hope. This is a companion Novel to “Beloved Enemy" - the story of Emory. It will be published on Amazon (to begin with). I am busy writing both novels. The updates of the companion novel may be erratic, but it will be complete when "Beloved Enemy" is published.

Chapter 1

“Alpha?”

The man sitting behind the desk shows no sign that he heard his Beta. Kyle waves the other men out of the office. He waits for the door to close before speaking again.

“Ethan?”

The man looks up, and frowns when he notices that he and Kyle are alone.

“Damn, did I veg out again?”

“Don’t worry about it. There was nothing urgent that needed to be finalised.” He pauses before continuing hesitantly. “Any news about Emory?”

“Nothing,” Ethan growls. “It has been months and nothing.”

“Don’t give up hope. The council will find your brother.”

“I am trying to stay strong for my parents, and for Emily, but…” He angrily blinks unshed tears away, and clears his throat. “I am loosing hope.”

Kyle leans forward, placing his hand on Ethan’s arm.

“I could feel him in the beginning, but not anymore. Emily can still feel him, but it is very faint.”

“The bond between twins are strong.”

“I know but…” Ethan growls in frustration. “Do you think I can do more to find him?”

Kyle shakes his head, “No, the council’s trackers are better than ours. They have access to resources we don’t, and…” he pauses, “The pack needs you here.”

“I know, but he is my little brother.”

Kyle remains silent. He has no answers. Doing the right things is not always easy. He knows he would feel the same if he was in Ethan’s shoes. He would want to be out there searching.

Ethan sighs heavily. “I missed out on most of what was said during the meeting. Would you mind bringing me up to speed?”

“The patrols smelled rouges just outside our boundaries, on the northern and eastern sides. Recently they saw them as well, on at least four occasions, but the rogues never breach our borders.”

“How many?”

“Anywhere from four to eight.”

Ethan frowns, “That is unusual. I have never seen more than two together.”

Both men remain silent, pondering the why and how of the situation.

“I want a rogue taken alive. I think we should investigate this further.” Ethan decided finally.

“Yes, alpha. I will make sure it is done.”

The door slams open and a young woman storms in. She throws herself into Ethan arms sobbing.

“Emily, what is wrong? It is Emory?”

She just keeps crying, her arms around his body. Her face is pressed into his chest.

Ethan swallows hard, and asks softly, “Is Emory dead?”

Emily looks up swiftly and shakes her head vigorously, “No. No, it is not that. The bond became stronger and I felt their emotions.”

“Don’t scare me like that. Damn, I almost had a heart attack!”

Emily wipes a tear away, “I am sorry.”

Ethan smiles reassuringly, “It’s okay. Now tell me everything.”

“For just a few seconds, Emory and his wolf’s emotions came through the bond.” she pauses and turns her head, a tear leaking from her eyes. “The bond weakened again almost immediately.”

“What were they feeling?” Kyle asks softly.

“Pain and despair.”

“At least he is still alive,” Ethan tries to comfort her.

“I can always feel him, even when the bond is weak, but…” She looks at Ethan, “What must have happened to him, to cause their emotions to come through now? What are they doing to him?”

‘Alpha, the rogues breached the eastern border’, a voice cries through the pack-link.

Ethan pulls Emily closer, giving her a hug. “All we can do is hope and have faith that he will be found.”

He pushes her back, looking closely at her. “Will you be okay? We have to go.”

Emily steps back, wiping he eyes, “I am fine. Go.”

Saph: I liked the novel, but it has many grammer and punctuation mistakes. It also seems like it was rushing a lot. I wish there was a description of everyone's appearance, like hight, hair length, hair color, eye color, and hair type. It didn't flow that well but it was still understandable and pretty...
