Chapter Three: Cha Cha
I was in my office working on a contract when my cell phone rang. I looked to see who it was. Celiene…again. “Hello?” I never should have told Celiene about Kay. As one of my closest friends, she was not going to let it die. “Celiene look. You are not going to get me to admit something that isn’t true.” I rolled my eyes as she continued to tell me what was good for me. I’m going to kill her if she doesn’t just drop this, I thought. Eventually, I got tired of her talking. “Bye, Celiene,” and I hung up my phone. Moments later, Jeffrey walked in.
“What’s going on?” he asked.
I rolled my eyes and sighed. “Celiene is driving me crazy. She has been on me for days about Kay.”
“Kay? What about her?”
“Celiene swears that I am in love with Kay.”
My best friend smiled. “Well don’t get me to talking.”
“Aw man, come on. Not you too,” I smirked.
Jeffrey chuckled, and shrugged his shoulders. “What? I haven’t said a word.”
“It’s not funny, Jeff. Celiene is driving me crazy.”
“I’m sorry, Dude. I didn’t mean to laugh but it is kinda funny.”
“What’s so funny about it?” I asked not finding the situation amusing at all.
“For starters, you haven’t been on one single date since you saw Kay with that guy.”
I shrugged. “Yeah, so?”
Jeffrey chuckled again. “What’s the matter? Afraid she’s gonna see you out with another woman? Or maybe you’re afraid to see her with another man?”
Just the thought of that meathead with Kay pissed me off. “Next time I see her out with him, I’m gonna kick his ass.”
Jeffrey chuckled again. “Yup. You love her.”
Usually I would deny his words. But this time I thought about it. I shrugged my shoulders. “I don’t know man. Maybe I do.”
My best friend didn’t want to talk about it anymore at work. It was the end of the day, and he thought if he could get me in a more social environment, he could get more out of me. “You finished with your work?”
I shook my head. “Not really. Why?”
“The rest can wait. Come on man, let’s go to Tony’s, and get a drink.”
I was down for an after work cocktail. “Are you buying?” I asked.
Jeffrey knew what I needed. “Sure. Let’s go.”
We went to our favorite bar to have a couple of drinks. Tony Sorrentino was the owner of Tony’s. Relatively young for one who owned his own bar, but I was certain that his family was mafia. It didn’t matter to me or Jeffrey. Tony owned a good spot, and hell, we supported him.
Jeffrey drove that night. We pulled up to the valet parking area, and they took Jeffrey’s car away. I looked up to see banners announcing something going on that night but didn’t read the banners. I was too busy thinking about Kay. We made our way to the entrance. Darren stayed at the door, but Dude made his way in. There were beautiful women everywhere. I didn’t know if I was going to be able to handle it. “Holy cow, look at the women!”
Jeffrey scanned the room as if he were looking for someone to take home that night. “Oh, my goodness, yes.”
I watched asses and boobs just walk past me. I forgot all about the conversation with Celiene. “What is going on tonight?” I asked staring at a very firm ass across the room.
“I think it’s something where the women drink for half off or something,” Jeffrey said still scanning the room. I knew he found one that caught his attention, because his eyes almost fell out of his head. “Yikes. Man, I will be right back,” he said as he began to walk away.
“What about Melissa?” I asked.
“She ain’t here,” he said as he continued to walk away.
I chuckled loudly and took a sip of my beer. Not long after Jeffrey left me alone, a strange woman approached. She looked familiar, but I’m not sure where I saw her before. If I had slept with her, I would have definitely remembered. She was smoking hot.
“Dude?” she asked as if she wasn’t sure it was me. But everyone called me Dude. At least those who have met me.
I took a sip of my beer again and asked, “Excuse me, do I know you?”
She nodded. “We met at Voltage a little while ago.”
I racked my brain to try and remember her. Yes, I was in the club, and obviously so was she. But that was the night I hung out with Kay. Did I hang out with this one too? “I’m sorry I still don’t remember you.”
She smiled widely and replied, “Three Margaritas, and something fruity. I can’t remember what exactly.” What the hell did that mean? Then I thought about my extremely high bar tab. “Oh yeah. The extra on my tab. What was your name again?”
Oh yes. Hot Cha Cha. The beautiful Latina. I remembered her now. She was the first one I saw in the club that night. “How are you, sweetheart?”
“I’m doing great. Even better since you’re here.” She put her ample bosom in my face.
She missed her chance the last time we met, but now since I was alone, I was definitely taking her home with me. There was just one thing I had to know. “So, do you have a man or what?”
She nodded. “I do.”
I backed away. I had enough of fighting other men for their women. It almost got me put away for life. If her man was there, I was not going to fuck with her. “Is he here?” I asked.
She grinned widely and stroked my cheek. “Nope.”
Dude Smith took over, and Cha Cha didn’t have a chance. “Good to know. I would invite you to my place, but my ride is a bit busy right now.”
“I can give you a ride home,” she said as she swung her keys around her finger.
Holy shit. She basically gave me permission to sleep with her. I wasn’t going to turn her down. “Meet me out front. I gotta tell my friend I’m leaving.”
“Don’t keep me waiting too long, handsome.”
I think I got an erection right there in the bar. I wasn’t going to make her wait. I called Jeffrey over.
“What Dude?” Jeffrey asked, obviously irritated with me. He looked back for a second. “Oh my god this woman is so hot!”
I looked over his shoulder to be sure I hadn’t had her before. “What’s her name?”
Jeffrey looked over his shoulder again admiring her beautiful figure. “Alani. She’s going home with me tonight. Need a ride?”
I chuckled and shook my head. “As a matter of fact, I’m leaving. I found a honey myself. Don’t worry about how I’m getting home. I’ll get there. See you later man.”
We parted company. I could only imagine what was happening at Jeffrey’s house. I’m sure he was happy. I have never known my friend to be a cheater, but as long as he didn’t continue with this woman, I wouldn’t give him any shit. By this time, I had accepted that he and Mel was a couple, but if he let her go…damn! That would only complicate things for me.
Cha Cha, not knowing that I was a rich man, was very excited when she found out that she was going to visit the small but affluent village of Briarcliff Manor. Not many people from the city ever came up here, but they certainly knew where it was. Before my trial, my father thought it would be a good thing if we moved out of the city. He purchased the house I currently live in and couldn’t wait until I left for college.
That is neither here nor there as we were talking about how I was about to get busy with Cha Cha. I digress. Five feet six, a large bosom, and extremely soft skin. Long, thick, straight black hair that stopped about the middle of her back. Thick thighs and strong calves. Yeah, she had an incredible body. Her boyfriend was a lucky man. I was only going to sleep with her once. I couldn’t take the risk that she could keep her mouth shut.
Oh yeah, I pounded her for a while, and she screamed my name several times, begging me not to stop. Who was she kidding? I wasn’t going to.
When I did stop, I didn’t put her out right away. I felt the need to be close to someone, so she was one of the lucky ones.
I’m not sure of the time, but we were certainly asleep when my doorbell rang. I heard it but chose to ignore it. Moments later, it rang again. I turned over and looked at my clock. Three in the morning? What the fuck? I didn’t get up. The doorbell rang for a third time.
This time, Cha Cha woke up. “Someone is at your door, Dude.”
I pulled her close and kissed her on the neck. The doorbell chimed for a fourth time. “Okay, okay. I’m up.” I pulled on a pair of shorts and made my way to the door. “Who is it?” No one answered, so I looked out of my peep hole, and I was both surprised and pissed. I opened the door and let her in. “Mel, what are you doing here?” She looked as if she had been out on the town. She wasn’t with Jeffrey, so where had she been? Perhaps she was cheating on him as well.
She took a deep breath before announcing, “I can’t get in touch with Jeffrey. Have you seen him?”
Disbelief was all over my face. What the fuck? Did she seriously ask about Jeffrey? “You come to my house looking for another man?”
“I’m not asking about another man, Dude. I’m talking about your best friend.”
I nodded. “He is my best friend, yes. I thought I was your friend, too. How come you didn’t tell me you were dating him?”
“He didn’t want me to say anything.”
I crossed my arms and stared at her for a moment. Loyalty. I appreciated that, however, I was still pissed. I wanted her, and she didn’t even have the decency to tell me she was interested in someone else. That is really what pissed me off. “So that’s why you wouldn’t let me come and see you anymore,” I stated.
“So, both of you betrayed me.”
She instantly protested. “I didn’t betray you, Dude.”
I smirked. “Yes, you did. I don’t know where he is. Your problem, not mine. Get out of my house, Melissa.”
Melissa didn’t say another word and immediately left. Did I know where Jeffrey was? Of course, I knew where he was. At his house cheating on Melissa.
I went back to my bedroom and crawled back in bed. I pulled Cha Cha close to me and she asked, though she really didn’t have any reason to ask. It wasn’t her business, but I answered her anyway.
“Who was that?”
“Jeffrey’s girlfriend,” I replied keeping it short.
“Jeffrey’s girlfriend? Why was she here?”
Oh my god. This is one of the reasons why I usually made women leave after I sleep with them. I didn’t want them in my business. “Go to sleep, Cha Cha,” I said and pulled her closer.
The following morning, I woke with this pretty Latin babe next to me. I went to the restroom, and when I came out, she was waking up.
I smiled thinking of the awesome job I did the night before.
“Good Morning, Cha Cha.” I rubbed my naked mid-section against her ass. I was down for round two. Would she let me?
Nope. She turned to face me. “Good morning, Dude.”
“Like a baby.”
I was a bit curious about her, so I had to ask.
“Is your boyfriend gonna ask about where you have been?”
She nodded. “Yeah. But I won’t tell him.”
It wasn’t my business. What she did with her life was her own thing. “Fine.”
My usual morning wood grew to something that required attention since there was a beautiful woman in my bed. I gave her a little more of me before I almost demanded that she get up and go home.
Once she was gone, I showered, ate a little breakfast, and did a little work from home. What seemed like minutes turned into hours, and my thoughts began to drift somewhere else. I looked up and found that it was just a bit after three. I wondered if Kay was home. I suddenly had a deep need to see her. Don’t ask what that need was, because I really didn’t understand it myself. I got up from my work and began to make my way to her house.
Jacob took me to a play in the park and we had a picnic lunch afterwards. It was pleasant. I invited him back to my house, so we could perhaps watch a movie and cuddle a bit. I liked Jacob, but something about him wasn’t quite right.
Upon entering my living room, he pulled me close and gave me a chaste kiss on the lips.
“Did you have a good time?” Jacob asked smiling widely.
“I did. Thank you,” I replied with a smile almost as wide.
“So, are you going to tell me about your relationship with Darren?”
This caught me off guard. I knew what my feelings were; I just wasn’t ready to share them. “What do you mean? I don’t have a relationship with him.”
“Okay so maybe you did?”
“Let’s just say it’s complicated.”
Jacob sighed, and let me out of his embrace. “I see. You don’t want to talk about him.”
I thought about it some more and shook my head. “No. Not really.”
“Okay. Kay, look. I really like you. I was wondering if we could work on a serious relationship. I mean you are my dream girl, after all,” Jacob smiled as he gently stroked my cheek.
Damn, he was hot. Jacob’s most appealing feature was his eyes. He could look at me and get me to do or say anything, if I didn’t take the time to think first. This was one of those times. I almost got sucked in. Jacob was almost everything Darren was. I mean he had a good job, and he was successful at it. He was almost as good looking as Darren, but not quite.
I decided at that moment I didn’t want what he wanted. “Jacob, you are sweet, and I like you. But I’m not ready yet.”
I walked up to Kay’s front door and rang the doorbell. My heart was beating rapidly, and again I have no freaking idea why. Was I really in love with Kay? Nah. Just wanted to see her.
Moments later, her door opened, and the expression on her face was not what I was expecting. She looked surprised to see me, just not a good kind of surprised, you know what I mean? “Darren, what are you doing here?”
I grinned like she just told me a good joke. “I came to see you.”
She asked me that, and up until that moment I didn’t know. But I had an idea. “There are some things we need to discuss. Come on let’s talk.” I opened her screen door and walked in. I stood in her living room waiting for her to come in, so I could spill my guts about what I was thinking, and I was met with the meathead. “What the hell are you doing here?” I asked like a jealous boyfriend, and I was far from that.
“Visiting Kay,” Jacob answered with a nasty scowl on his face. I take it he didn’t like seeing me either.
“Well I guess your visit is over now. You can go home,” I said with authority. I meant it.
“I don’t have to leave,” he replied. I wondered if he was a big bad ass gang leader in his past. He stood up to me with no issues. For a moment, and just a moment, I thought of Charlie.
I had no plans on killing another man ever in my life, but this guy was an asshole. I thought it was time for threats, since being semi-nice wasn’t working. “I’m going to give you until the count of ten. Then I start swinging.”
“We don’t have to go there if you leave.”
Something in me snapped. Probably the same thing that snapped the night I shot Charlie. “Ten.” I threw the first punch, and he didn’t back down. He hit me back.
We went at it like gladiators, destroying some of Kay’s things in the process. I felt a bit bad about that. She stepped in and broke us up.
“Stop it!” Kay yelled. Something about her voice made me back up. Jacob as well. What kind of power did she have over us? She then said something that surprised me. “Jacob, go home. I will call you later.”
She was sending him home? Wasn’t he her boyfriend? I was shocked and waited to see what was going to happen.
“Why do I have to leave?” He asked, as I smiled. I didn’t let her see me though.
“Get out of here, Jacob!” Kay said firmly, and to my surprise, he left, slamming the door as he did. I was relieved until…
“Darren Smith! You have gone too far!” She yelled. I was the only Darren in the room, so I knew she was yelling at me, but why?
I yelled back. “No, you have gone too far!” That made absolutely no sense, but I had to be the man and take command of the conversation. “Are you dating him?”
“If I am it’s none of your business.”
My heart pounded very loudly in my ears. Was I too late? Was she dating the meathead? I wasn’t going to let her see my pain. “Well if you are, that’s my fault. He is an absolute piece of shit.”
“Darren, what are you talking about?”
I suddenly realized why I had a need to see her. I realized that I wanted her and no one else. I didn’t want her to date anyone else. Only me. “Well I did come over here for a reason. So, are you dating him or what?”
She shook her head. “No.”
My heart leapt right out of my chest. “Good.” The next thing I knew, she was in my arms, and I was kissing her passionately. As always, her kisses lit my brain on fire. I let my hands begin to wander, and then suddenly, she pulled away.
“What did you want to talk about, Darren?”
I had no reason to hold back. She was free. “I have given it some thought. I want us to be exclusive.” Very proud of my declaration, I was willing to put Dude away and be the man I was born to be; Darren. She looked at me, serious at first, and then she giggled. I couldn’t believe she was laughing. “What’s so funny, Kay?”
She finished her laugh, and said, “I’m sorry, Darren. I didn’t mean to laugh, but I thought you said you wanted to actually date me.”
I crossed my arms. “I did.”
“Are you serious?”
I nodded. “Yes.” I had no idea what I was really saying. Both my mouth and body took over, and I just went with it.
“Wow. This is a surprise. Can I think about it?”
Think about it? Was she serious? “What’s to think about Kay? I’m willing to give up all other women for you.”
“I know, I know. But I just...”
I didn’t want to hear it. She wasn’t ready for me. This was it. My ego couldn’t take her rejecting me. I didn’t want to hear her explanation. “Damn it woman! I’m out.” I left in a hurry, slamming the door just like Jacob did. Perhaps she needed time to choose between the two of us. Of course, I was the better choice.
