Prologue

Mankind bring themselves to their own undoing. I realize this more and more as each day goes by.

Over a hundred years ago, scientists have finally discovered a method for time travel. They created a large machine that opens a portal to a different point in time of their choosing. Apart from a few tests to confirm its functionality, it has only ever been used once.

In the year 2048, the first and only manned mission to the past had begun. Destination: 06-12-Jurassic Period, North America. Fifty men and women were sent through the portal and were to capture at least one primeval specimen and return within 24 hours. Fifty men and women went through the portal, but only 12 men and 5 women returned. All severely wounded and infected with a strange virus.

Back then, there was no name for this very disease, but we call it the Pangaea Flu. It killed over 80% of the world's population. That's not including animals, birds and fish.

And that portal the men and women came out of, it was never closed. Because something else followed them, and it was hungry...

That dreadful day is what we call Breach Day. Only worse things would follow from then on...

Peaceapeace: It is a fitting sequel to the unnoticed mate. I liked that it focused on second chances. I like the characters and the flow of the story. But we were not told what happened to the rogue wolf who was the cause of all the problems
