Written to be read
Where do I begin? First of all the writing style is beautiful, intricate even. I can picture the world vividly as though I was there. Dialogue is great too, the interaction with the family and even the side characters that appear just once (so far) was well written and you get an immediate sense of what a character is like. Then the main character, Marlene, is interesting with her little quirks and 'ability' is interesting as well, makes you want to know more about her. Sometimes the story is hard to follow (could be I am just tired) but it's still an interesting read and I look forward to understanding the apprenticeship.
