Chapter 23

I jump awake with a pair of arms around me. I rollover seeing Eric’s eyes looking back at me. Suddenly everything that happened yesterday hit me as I try to pry his hands off of me.

I manage to get his hands off and run downstairs but I can hear his footsteps following behind me. I try running to the front door but he catches up, pinning my back to the door with his arms on either side of me.

“Oh, sweetheart. I’m not letting you get away as easily as last time. Andrew is gone and he won’t be saving you this time.” He says with an evil chuckle. “Now get your ass back upstairs.” He stares down at me pulling one of his arms away from the door letting me through.

I rush upstairs and back to the bedroom afraid of what he was going to do. He comes up behind me and once I’m sitting on the bed he grabs ahold of my foot and puts a chain around my ankle. The other part of the chain is attached to the leg of the bed.

“E-eric, please, no. I promise I won’t run. Just don’t chain me up.” I beg while tears slowly fall down my face.

“Sorry, sweetie. I’m not going to chance losing what’s mine anymore.” He says with his back to me as he goes through Andrews closet looking for something to wear.

He changes coming back out looking at me. “I’m leaving but I’ll be back soon. Wayde will be here watching over you. Don’t try anything because you won’t like your punishment if I find out you were a bad good.” He says with an evil smirk.

I look around and notice Wayde standing in one of the corners of the room. His arms are crossed over his chest as he glares at me. Eric leaves and Wayde comes over to me. He climbs up on the bed in front of me and his eyes scan my body. He notices the bite marks on my neck and slowly inches his way closer to me.

“Oh I’m hungry little girl and you’re going to fix that.” He says as he grabs both my hands in one of his before I can even react.

“N-no, please,” I beg trying to kick him off me but my actions are stopped when he holds my legs down with his knees. He inches his face closer to my neck until I can feel his breath against my skin. He licks over the teeth marks that were left by Eric the time he almost killed me.

“Don’t beg. I don’t like begging.” He snaps. I see his red eyes which are fixated on my exposed skin.

“Why did you kill my family?” I say trying to distract him from my neck while hoping to get an answer to the question that’s been on my mind since my dream.

“I was following orders. They weren’t good enough to sell but you were pretty little one.” He says with an evil grin.

I look away from him as tears stream down my face. I’ve found the one who killed my mother, and now I’m defenseless against him. His attention goes back to my neck.

Suddenly, I feel pain and screech as his teeth sink into my neck and the blood drains from my body. I squirm trying to get away from him as tears continue falling down my face.

“S-s-Stop!” I cry out. He doesn’t and continues sucking my blood. I begin to feel lightheaded like I did when Eric sucked my blood and almost killed me.

The room becomes blurry as the life feels like it’s being sucked away from me. Finally, the world fades away as I’m pulled into the black abyss of nothingness.

......

I jump awake and look around. I see Andrew sitting up and looking at me worried.

“Princess, what’s wrong?” He says as I break down. I wrap my arms around him holding onto him tightly and not letting go. I cry into his chest, soaking his shirt with my salty tears.

“Shhh, baby girl. What’s wrong? Please calm down. It’s okay, I’m here, I’ve got you. You’re safe.” He whispers into my ear as he holds me tightly to his chest.

“P-please don’t leave m-m-me.” I stutter while still hiding my face in his chest.

“What are you talking about? I’d never leave you.” He rubs my back and slowly my breathing slows and the tears cease. “Edlynn what happened?” He calmly says while pulling me back just enough so he can look into my eyes.

“I-i had a horrible n-nightmare where you left for a-work and Wayde was here. He helped E-Eric get in and then Wayde tried to kill me.” I say chocking on Eric and Wayde’s name when I try to same them.

“Oh, my. Edlynn I would never ever leave you here. If I left for work you would come with me. I promise you that will never happen.” He hugs me tightly and I don’t want to let him go.

“Why don’t you go and relax and watch tv on the couch while I make breakfast?” Andrew offers slowly getting up off the bed and picking me up in his arms. I nod my head and give a weak smile. He smiles lightly back at me as he carries me down the stairs.

He sets me down on the couch and I flicked through the channels. Andrew disappears into the kitchen. After a while, the smell that fills the living room is absolutely amazing and I turn around to see Andrew walking over with two plates in his hands. He sets a plate of blueberry pancakes in my lap and I smile at him.

“These look and smell delicious. Thank you, Andrew.” I say softly.

“Anything for you, princess.” He smiles sitting down next to me.

We eat our breakfast in silence mostly because we are both concentrating on eating the delicious food in front of us. The rest of our afternoon is spent watching movies trying to keep my mind off of the horrible dream I had last night.
