“Impossible” stated the coach breaking Shruti’s heart.
Shruti was never a winner. Rather you can say a nerd by choice happy in her own world with no boyfriends and friends, her only best friend being her books.
Like all others she wanted to be popular and enjoy her life but was constrained to her fears and insecurities.
Now when the pro of the field was stating her child’s destiny she felt history repeating itself.
No she won’t let it happen to her child. She’d suffered enough with her defeats and lack of success in life.
This was after a skating tournament that Piu played in one of the interstate tournaments.
A little briefing about the speed skating in India:-
Speed skating a popular sport in India and very successful as a child as less as three years of age can start skating and can also participate in state and national level tournaments in under 4 years age category.
In a tournament there are three events including two rink races and one road race. Rink races include speed racing and time trials which depends on the time taken by an individual skater to complete a lap and the skater with minimum time taken to finish a lap wins.
The speed skating is like a normal race that of athletes with heats followed by final race of top six or seven players.
Road race is similar to speed race in rink but we do not have heats all the players run randomly after the clap is heard. The skater to reach the finishing line first wins the gold and the later two win silver and bronze according to their positions.
So in all the probability of earning a medal in a tournament is 3:9 that is quite a fair chance of winning.
So after the splendid performance by Piu on her road event, her mom was in euphoria of Piu’s promising future in the sport.
Though she didn’t win but she stood at fourth place, which was very close to bronze medal, and being in under-4 age category she had another year to compete in the same age group.
Though disappointed that she was way away to even qualify for the final race in the rink she still stood smiling at her cherub’s performance at the road race.
Chubby and tall for her age with a very fair complexion which is a rare thing among Indians; a smile was all Piu could give to make her mom fall for her each day. Her slender body that was perfect for an athlete made her mom love her dad even more simply for blessing her with a beauty; an angel that she calls her daughter.
So in excitement while traveling back home Shruti asked the coach “What do you think is Piu’s future in the field of skating?”
“Well if you want to know my opinion” the coach named Amit (name changed) replied “she has absolutely no future in the game.”
“What sir?” Shruti asked skeptically if she heard right.
“Yes she won’t be winning any prizes or medals in coming years in the sport.” He stated casually which she felt was heartless but continued listening to him for anxiety had taken over command of her senses.
Speed the most important ingredient required in the sport is missing in your daughter hence her career in skating is ’IMPOSSIBLE’
The rest of the ride back home in the bus Shruti went silent seated on her seat wondering if she had inherited her defeats or passed on her genes of being a failure in life to her daughter.
Welcomed by a huge hug by the love of her life, the stress of the negative viewpoint by the coach diminished like a puff of smoke in the air.
Though their marriage was arranged but Govind her husband was sensible enough to give some space and time to his wife, he made it a point not to consummate their wedding till she fell in love with him.
He on the other hand was affirmative that Shruti was his first and only love as it was love at first sight for him; first victory in the life of Shruti was winning love- a rare jewel and she was blessed wholesomely with the same.
So the biggest IMPOSSIBLE thing Love that Shruti assumed in her life came running to her saying I m possible.
A smile widened her jaw lines as he kissed her on her lips giving new hopes and new dreams erasing all the negatives that were imparted by the coach to her.
As she promised to herself “I will make it possible Priyangana (Piu). I will show to the world that YOU can WIN”
Piu can win
Piu will win

Ruby0h: Overall I thought your story was really good! It drew me in right away and kept me interested as the story progressed. I loved the character of Kayla being inserted into this story, and the way she affected and shaped the life of the original story into something totally new and interesting. I lo...
zoheusher20: What more can I say? The writing style and little details drew me into the book and for the entirety of the story I was Juliet. I felt her turmoil and emotions and every trouble or triumph as they arrived. This story was very different and had quite a few little but unexpected twists that made it...
Stephen Warner: To start off, I am thoroughly impressed. The writing style is somewhat unique, and the plot seemed to move at a nice and steady pace. However, I was not expecting this to be a vampire book! I am usually not one for novels about vampires, but I was pleasantly surprised! You wrote with such grace a...
Alex Rushmer: Chapter One: Not much is happening in this chapter, but I was absolutely fascinated by the depth of your character development. I love how you just sat there with the reader and explored Eddward. Usually, that sort of thing gets boring very fast, but this was actually really cool! He's so unique ...
Samantha Speed: There were several punctuation, grammar, and missing word problems but it did not detract from the story. This story was very well done, enjoyable, and had an interesting enough plot. It took a while to finish. This story is not complete. I love it, but I want to see another book or have more cha...
annie08c: I really like this story, I can relate to it a lot and with how she feels, the boyfriend and the events that happened but I'm a little bit younger. It was really good plot, really liked how you stuck to the topic and you had a new title for every chapter making me guess what's going to happen. Ma...
JONANNA: As an avid reader it is not often I say that about a book. The plot is what was different and the twists where unexpected. This book is defiantly a page turner and enjoyable read. I can't wait to reread this novel after a little editing to finish off the shine on this wonderful novel.
263Adder: Okay so I adore this story. I only knocked one star off plot for historical inaccuracies because I'm a bit of a stickler for that. The ending broke my heart though, considering you already changed history couldn't you (SPOILER) change it a bit more and have them together!!!! I want an alternative...
