Blurb

Dwayne, a handsome professor and country song writer, is having strange dreams of a world of blue inhabited only by himself and a woman he has never met. Since he has been having the dreams, he has suffered from writer's block. Twenty years ago he wrote a hit song which was recorded by a country legend, but walked away from fame. His best friend plots to give him a second chance at fame. Sandy is a practical single mother who does not believe in love and loathes romantic poetry and song. Yet she begins to dream of a blue screen which displays poems, lyrics and musical chords . Suddenly she is a poet and country song writer. Meanwhile her teenage daughter wants a father figure. Sandy dreads that her daughter will find out the truth about her father. What is causing these strange blue dreams and what happens when the dreamers meet? This novel explores the roles of destiny and free will in the fairy tale concepts of "Soulmates" and "Happily Ever After." It forces the reader to answer the question: "Do you believe in Happy Endings?" Each section begins with an original poem or song.

Section 1: I dreamt you.

You have been in my dreams-

Sometimes old, sometimes young,

Sometimes closer to my age.

I have seen you in blue;

Wandering alone- lost

Is it you or me you seek?

I have seen you dancing;

Young in spirit and heart,

Movements, so free and graceful.

I have seen you grey haired;

Looking to the distance,

Searching for a memory.

Did I see you today?

After a long work day,

Worried about the future.

I have seen your legs crossed;

Your eyes closed, your breath deep,

No thoughts, just the peaceful calm.

I have seen you sleeping;

Hair wild spread all around.

You are young. I look away.

I have dreamed you as if

I know you, but I do not.

I seek for you in my dreams.
