part of your world

We woke

s o f t l y

this morning.

Wiping the dust from our eyes

after a heavy sleep.

I heard you sigh gently,

and when I looked at you-

you were laying there smiling at me.

I inched my face


to yours

and saw stars in your eyes-


c o n s t e l l a t i o n s

around your pupils.

I glimpsed at the boundless Universe that is

y o u

and become paralyzed by your beauty.

I realize I cannot take credit for you.

You are not simple an extension of me and your father-

But rather a

v a s t and i n t r i c a t e


A whole world

dripping of milk, honey and

w i l d n e s s .

You are your own.

You are magic-

just as you are.
