| She is Going to Pummel You to a Pulp |
“Amelia!” Really Ezzy?! Couldn’t be any louder now could you? Cue the eye roll. “Yes, Esther?” Cringing she replies, “Why do you say that horrific name?” “Because it’s your full name. Full of beauty I should say. Hey! What do ya know! A beautiful name for a beautiful girl.” “Don’t be so cheesy Mel.” “Oh, you know you love it.” As soon as I said those words, I made eye contact with the exact same guy from three minutes ago. The same guy I bumped into and told to go to a mental hospital. The same guy walking toward us both. Not good. Not good at all.
“I love that you love me yes. But unfortunately, I’m not turning bisexual anytime soon Mellie-Bear.” “I would hope not. I wouldn’t want to be the bearer of bad news. Sorry to tell you, but.... I just don’t feel that way about you. Unless you can still be my best friend, and just friendly feelings, I am going to have to end this friendship that we share and hope you find someone better than me.” “Esty? What is she talking about?” As soon as she realized it wasn’t me talking, her face immediately turns ripe tomato red and gives the random stranger a kiss on the cheek. I almost gagged in disgust. Almost.
“Ahem.” “Oh, sorry Mel.” Ezzy giggled, “This is my boyfriend I was telling you about. Ashton Grey, meet my best friend since birth. Amelia Reighton.”
Can this day get any worse? My best friend is dating the guy who, as I recall, was very rude. Ugh! I merely manage to put on a fake smile. I am, quite frankly, repulsed by this “Ashton” guy. Just when I thought things couldn’t get any worse, “So, no hard feelings about earlier?” Giving him a death glare, “No hard feelings? Seriously?” “Wait. You know Ashton?” Not breaking my stare down with Ashton, “No, I just bumped into him a few minutes ago. On accident mind you. In those few minutes, this boyfriend of yours has managed to piss me off.”
Now, I know I’m overreacting. I tend to do that a lot. But when someone really gets on my nerves, I tend to not care until I’m all cooled down. Even then, I will hold a grudge against that person and not forgive them for a little while. Yeah, I guess you could say I’m a little stubborn. Okay, maybe a lot but I’m not admitting to anything.
“Ashton, listen to me carefully. What did you say, exactly, when Amelia accidentally bumped into you?” “I told her to watch where she was going.” “Oh, really? What else did you say? Or should I ask one of the onlookers?” “Okay, I know I called you Mrs. Clumsy, but it doesn’t mean you need to get all snooty with me Mrs. I-Am-The-Principal’s-Daughter.”
“Ash?” “Yeah Esty?” “If I were you, I would shut up right now.” “Why’s that?” “You see that murderous look on Amelia’s face?” “Uh, yeah?” “Well, that’s the look that tells you she’s going to pummel you to a pulp.”
