Chapter 4

Nick stalked his prey letting off an intimidating growl the large buck turned to face him, as the fawn and doe took off running. Before the buck could respond Nick raised his hackles pouncing onto the large creature fast. It tried to block him with its antlers but Nick bit at his neck throwing himself on the beast’s back.

He dug his jaws in hard to disable it as it tried to toss him off. He ripped the chunk of flesh out then went to bite the neck again this time aiming to kill, with an echoing thud the buck hit the ground. Nick let out a victorious howl and everyone took off to find their own prey, as he sat down to offer some of his buck to his parents.

Ella watched with a sense of pride as her brother took short work of the large buck. Then slowly she left her parents side to start searching for her own prey. She had a bad habit of hunting for creatures that are normally to strong for a single wolf on their own.

However, her gifts made fighting large animals easier, her instincts being stronger she always kept the upper hand. She charged through the forest then suddenly took a sharp turn left an interesting sent had hit her she wasn’t sure if it was something she wanted to eat, but she couldn’t resist it. She felt her wolf take full control pushing her conscious mind she let Aadya have full rein.

“Aadya, what is that sent?”

“I’m not sure, but I love it.”

“Oh I noticed.......you have never forced me back like that before.”

“Never felt the need to you’re always good about giving me the freedom to run when I need it. Just this.......this sent. I want it so bad I had to.”

“I understand; I’m curious about it too.”

They reached a clearing and it suddenly ended. Aadya let out a loud growl of frustration and began to sniff hard along the ground and trees. Aadya found nothing and began to sink back into Ella’s mind returning control to her. Ella gently reached out to Aadya her disappointment about having lost the scent was strong. Ella assumed it was because they were great trackers, best of the pack . they never lost a trail before.

The wolves snorted at her, one moving to get to her side and she backed up some trying to keep her eyes on them both. The one who hadn’t moved suddenly lurched forward. Ella jumped easily dodging him,but while she was moving to dodge the first a third wolf she didn’t notice tackled her with enough force to knock the wind out of her lungs. Then pinned her down to the ground.

She snapped her jaws at the wolf, t bit down hard on her neck clearly looking for submission from her. She merely growled steadily and tried to use her front paws to force him off. He applied more of his weight onto her to keep her from accomplishing her goal. He bit harder making some blood come out of the puncture wounds, she had to give in or risk losing more than her pride. She tilted her head back exposing her neck to him a sign of submission. A chuckle left the wolf’s throat s he stepped back, Ella was now surrounded by three wolves and Aadya had gone completely silent.

One of the wolves suddenly shifted and Ella snapped her eyes closed. You would think, after growing up with brothers she would be use to seeing men shift in front of her. She didn’t open them until she felt hands grab her paws. Her eyes snapped open and she panicked trying to snap her paws away from the man standing over her. She was focused on his hands and hadn’t looked to face her capture yet. She kept struggling as he tied her front paws together and snapped at her.

“Stop fucking struggling you bloody bitch.“He finished tying her paws and gaves her a look.

“Change back now!”

She finally looked up at his face and snarled viciously then thrashed around to get loose from the bonds.“Yeah.....yeah....yeah the betrayal is grand, now turn!”

Hesitantly she shifted back to normal the rage on her face clear as her hands now were trapped tightly in the roping. He tosses a shirt at her and she wiggled it on it was kinda hard with the ropes but she got it done.

“How could you Roy! My father has been nothing but loyal to you and your brother for years!”

“Yea but your father didn’t tell me or my brother that you have the Eye Of The Wolf”

“Why the hell would he?”

“Because its unfair for one alpha to have so much power and refuse to share it!”

“So your brother sent you to capture me?”

“Luca? My brother never, as scary as he truly is. He draws a line at kidnapping innocent lycans. I however do not draw that same line. So you and your special eyes are coming with me.”

“How did you manage to get my wolf to go so crazy like that?”

“I’m not sure, I took my brothers shirt. I figured he’s never come to these kind of things before so you wouldn’t recognize the scent and want to protect your pack. Then hunt down the person leaving it, so I dragged it around a bit then got rid of it. You actually amused me with how fast you freaked out. As if my brother’s scent was some kind of drug to you. Maybe you saw the danger coming and was more prepared, but you just didn’t see me did you?” He let out a sickening laugh.
