Chapter One- A Private Message

"Write. No One can stop you, but you." -Katherine Neville

(Baron)-

It was another long weekend in the cold for me, as long as I could remember them. But it didn’t start on a weekend like today, it’s started like about a month ago. I did learn some pretty good lessons from them, but, for me, it felt like more than just a waste of my time to learn about freedom, and even love as usual as it gets...

Back then, about more like maybe a month ago...

“Oh come on!... As for Martin becoming the elected leader as he wants to be, Logan, I think that you should become a leader! You were great last time, when you helped Alex and his buddies defeat Lord Farrendell and Martin together once, am I right?!” I heard Princess Angelica try to tell and encourage Logan about his past life, but to me, it didn’t look like it was going so well for him at all...

“Yeah, sure, okay we get it!! Enough about the past, alright?!!” Logan grumbled to himself in defeat, “It’s a bad idea for me to become a leader again, Angelica!... It’s just not my style any more, and I’m retired! Done! Zip!!” He added in disgust, as he left the living room in Angelica’s humble house this evening for fresh air today. I followed after him to see what was wrong, and possibly help him out.

“Is everything okay out here, Logan?...” I wondered.

“I’m fine!... And don’t say that I don’t look fine, because I am, okay?! I just... don’t want to talk about my past right now!... I was kind of a jerk back then, and then once I realized what was happening and getting my father back, but my mother is gone... I don’t know what to do anything about it now!...” He grumbled to me in disgust.

“Hey Logan, you’re not the only one who has a screw lose with their one and only parents, okay?...” I said to cheer him up.

“Oh yeah? How is that so?...” He wondered in defeat.

“They argue around me about religion!... About politics!... Mostly about Anything!...” I replied firmly, “It’s true! Anything and everything, from politics to religion, they would truly argue So much about it, and there was nothing that me nor what my siblings and I could do about it!...”

“What about with your step siblings and your step-father?... What happens to them?...” He wondered in defeat, and in disgust as he looked beside him.

“Ohhh... Them!... They were always ignoring me... I ignored them!... So that’s how it was with us!... Half of the times they ignore me, and half of the times I would ignore them, because we never got along with each other!... I’m serious!... We never did!...” I said quite brightly, to comfort and keep him cheered up. “Ohhh, but the creepy monkey from the lion king is right, the past can hurt, Logan!... You can either run from it, or, learn from it!... It all depends on you, and the choices that we make around here too! Ha ha!...”

“Hey ummm, boys?... Sorry to interrupt, but, there’s a visitor or a messenger here for Prince Baron?... It’s both private and urgent!...” We heard Princess Angelica told us pretty calmly and sadly in discomfort, like she didn’t like the looks of who our visitor from Mars was, whatever or wherever he came from, I guess...

“It’s okay Angelica, I can take these things from here if it’s only a family business!... Thanks though!...” I said firmly, as I went out front to talk to our stranger visitor here this evening.

Ten minutes later outside the front deck of the house...

“A royal message to prince Baron please! Are you who you say that you are?...” The strange man all dark, and cloaked with his hands in his own pockets, while smoking a cigarette, has asked me pretty curiously.

I nodded my head, “Yes, I’m him. What seems to be the trouble?!...” I asked him in bewilderment.

“It’s about your royal family, prince Baron... They need your help again!... My Name is Doug Terrance Arthur McDeanver!... It seems to me that he’s asking you to come back for a small price, but at a small exchange for their freedom!...” The pale man said firmly to me. “It’s very urgent!”

“...Who is?!...” I wondered as I slowly freaked out. “Not again!... Which sides of the family?!... Step family or other?!”

“Ummm, It’s hard to tell it around here!... I’m just the messenger, your highness!... It’s nothing personal, but your stepbrother Edward is demanding a rematch!... He says that you must come to the Demonic tournament at once, and come alone!... In exchange to let your family go free, he wants you to come alone at once tomorrow night, and he also wants you to only attend it!... If you win the game, they go free!... If you don’t win the tournament, then there will be consequences!... And please, leave your own weapons behind!... It’s nothing personal if you want to keep your new siblings alive, your highness!... Good day to you sir!...” He said, as he disappeared into the darkness in a hurry, and also out of sight as well.

“What are you up to now and even at this time and hour, Prince Edward?!... If it’s a fight that only you want again, then it’s a fight that you will get and deserve!...” I grumbled softly to myself, as I secretly got packed for tomorrow, and got ready to leave quietly for the early morning.

I left my friends a note, so that they will not try to come right after me again. This isn’t going to be easy, and it isn’t going to be like last time either, I think!...

sujitha nair: What's so distinct about this story was that it could easily be real.Praveena can be your classmate, neighbor or that girl you saw at the coffee shop today. The important decisions she makes and the dilemmas she faces, remind us of our own twisted lives.

Sara Grover: Being that this is your first story and I assume first draft, a lot of little mistakes are common, we all have made them; little things like your instead of you're, missed capitalization, missing punctuation, etc.As for the plot, I have a lot of questions and I did leave comments on certain secti...

Jessica Esa: With a tantalising end to the first chapter, the authour has given us a treat and a welcome addition to the fantasy adventure genre. To limit it to just such would be an injustice however, as this novel clearly draws on elements of historical fiction, fairy tale and horror. Simply, there's someth...

TheProfezzer: This is an excellent story. The plot covers several decades and at least two generations of good guys fighting the enemy from beyond.
