Chapter 6: The Trade
Dark Rose and a young woman walked into a warehouse on the edge of town. The building used to be owned by a man named Joe Cougar; he turned it into a shipping company called Cougar Shipping, which, after five years, went out of business.
Dark Rose and the woman walked into a dark room. All they could see were the silhouettes of three people.
“Is it done?” the man in the middle asked.
“Yes,” Dark Rose replied. “My father is out of jail.”
“Good. How many of my men did you use?”
“Where is the other?”
“He said he had something to do and would check-in in the morning.”
“Which of my men did you use?”
“Card Shark, who’s not here, and Oystra,” Dark Rose replied.
“Shadow Sweeper tells me you made a trade?”
“And what was it?”
She sighed. “Because Shadow Sweeper loaned me two of your people, I will go on two missions for you. But, I do have one request.”
“The missions I’m supposed to do for you…do you have anything in mind?”
“No,” he replied, as Oystra left the room. “Why?”
“Because, if it’s alright with you, I’d like to go on a mission to kill Dark Vengeance.”
There was dead silence.
“Sir,” the woman next to the man said. “She is on our list.”
“State your name.” he turned back to Dark Rose.
“It’s Dark Rose,” she replied.
“The other one.”
He nodded. “Dark Rose, you will go on two missions for me; if you run into Dark Vengeance, you are free to kill her. Come back tomorrow and check-in with the others.”
“Yes, Sir. One more thing…what do I call you?”
She nodded and then left.
“Do you think she’ll do what you tell her?” Shadow Sweeper asked.
“You saw what she did to break her father out of jail,” Retsacnal said. “Just think of what she’ll do if she thinks his life is in danger.”
